Plot summary
Nell Phillips is on a nationwide book tour for her first book, which has become a surprise bestseller this Christmas season. The tour's last stop is Springdale, where Emmett Turner grew up. More than five years ago Nell met Emmett in New York, when both worked as junior copy editors for a New York publisher, and she was hurt when he failed to show up for a dinner date and then left the city without explaining why. Nell says that his colorful, nostalgic anecdotes about Springdale are what moved her to write the book that is now shaping her life and this holiday season.
