Plot summary
Jack Whitfield draws faces for the police, turning what a witness remembers into a likeness the department can use. Working a homicide, he sits with a witness who saw someone leaving the scene, and the suspect described resembles his wife, Rayanne, in every detail. Jack keeps the resemblance to himself. He reworks the sketches so they no longer look like her, and he starts looking into the murder on his own.
