Plot summary
Doc Fletcher, a financial wizard, works for Joe Fiore, an American mobster who wants a Swiss bank to move his illegal profits through. Fiore sends him to Lugano to buy one, and the Italian prince Gianfranco di Siracusa, who is impoverished, becomes chairman of the board to lend the venture an appearance of respectability. Fletcher arrives to find a few rooms over a pizza restaurant with barely any assets. The prince then proposes an investment in a silver mine in Iran that his cousins Shireen and Agha Firdausi have discovered, said to hold a billion dollars of untapped metal. Fletcher travels to Iran to meet them and comes back with five million dollars from Agha, held as security against a twenty million loan, which pays for better premises and a display that draws powerful investors.

- Ivan Passer nearly directed Cybill Shepherd again, in a John Cassavetes script called Dancing, set in Las Vegas, about two sailors on leave who meet two showgirls. Cassavetes and Peter Falk were to play the sailors, Shepherd and Raquel Welch the showgirls, with Peter Bogdanovich producing, but the film was never made.
