Plot summary
Sarah Jo Pender is a student in Indiana whose two roommates are murdered by her boyfriend, Rick. She is convicted of the killings and sent to prison, though she insists that she was not involved. Her appeals move through the courts, and one of those appeals is denied. She gets away with help from Scott Spitler, a guard at the prison, and from her friend Jamie Long. The search for her makes her one of the country's most wanted fugitives, and Marshal Sean Harlan leads the hunt without success, turning to the television program America's Most Wanted for help.
