Plot summary
Santa Claus gets stuck in the chimney on Christmas Eve, and Elmo pulls him free. As thanks, Elmo may choose a gift, and he picks a magical snow globe that grants three wishes. The first goes on a glass of water, and the second is for Christmas to arrive every day. Santa warns that the holiday would stop being special, so Lightning, a reindeer-in-training, carries Elmo forward in time to show him the year that follows: shops shut, Santa's elves worn out making flawed toys, the same movie on every television channel, and Big Bird missing his friend Snuffy. Oscar the Grouch enjoys the misery.
