Biography

David Rudman is an American puppeteer who also works as a puppet builder, writer, director, and producer. He has performed on Sesame Street since 1985, and his roles there include Cookie Monster, which he has played since 2001, Baby Bear, and one head of the Two-Headed Monster, a part he has taken since 1998. That work brought him four Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series category, and he has directed several web videos for the show. With the Muppets he inherited a number of parts Richard Hunt had created, among them Scooter, Janice, Bobby Benson, and Wayne, and in 2017 he added Beaker after Steve Whitmire left. Rudman started Spiffy Pictures, a Chicago children's television company, with his brother Adam in 2003. He has also co-created and executive produced children's shows and directed and performed in them, including Scooby-Doo! Adventures: The Mystery Map (2013), and he created and executive produced Nature Cat.
