Plot summary
Overseas high school students of Korean descent from North America and Europe land in Seoul in 1986 for a government-sponsored cultural immersion camp, where they will be taught Korean language, history, customs and culture. Many of the teenagers have never been to South Korea, and some cannot speak their parents' native Korean at all. Sid Park, Klaus Kim and Sergio Kim are among the campers, and the three boys, from the United States, Mexico and Germany, meet three girls at the camp. The summer brings partying, mishaps and mistakes as the teenagers get to know the culture around them and one another.

- Seoul Searching was the first mainstream feature to highlight the Korean adoptee experience and the Korean diaspora in America. It became a flagship film for Korean adoptees, whom director Benson Lee said he included because they were part of the diaspora in their countries.
