Plot summary
Two households are meant to become one in Seattle: NASA scientist Tom Reynolds and Navy Lieutenant Emma Peterson are marrying, and their children fight. Tom's son Wyatt, who is into machines, and Emma's daughter Chloe, who is green-minded, clash constantly, and the new family is hard pressed to hold together. The military then shoots down an unidentified object, and it crashes into Puget Sound. From the debris come earthquakes, tornadoes and lightning storms, and the disturbances keep spreading. Tom, Emma, Wyatt and Chloe are in the middle of it, and the family has to pull together to protect the city and one another.
