Plot summary
Thanksgiving weekend empties most of an old Manhattan building that now serves as a college dormitory. Five students remain on one floor: roommates Lauren, Melina, and Alison, Alison's boyfriend Diego, and Grant, who keeps to himself down the hall. Lauren has been seeing a silent child of about six in her bathroom. Diego, who wrote a paper on parapsychology, decides to hold a séance, though the others do not believe in it. The session does not go as planned, and strange, harmful events begin around them. Syd, an aging campus cop, becomes the students' only defender as they try to understand what is happening in the building.
