Plot summary
Willard Fillmore works as a chauffeur for Virginia Crock, a mean-spirited pie heiress who underpaid his father before him. At Christmas he asks for a new uniform; he is still wearing the suit his father was buried in. Crock gives him cuff links and a pie while her business partner, Chip Oswald, and her dog, Muffin, receive expensive gifts. Fed up, Willard and Rusty, his best friend and a chicken restaurant owner, plan to take Muffin and demand a million dollars. The dog fights Willard off and runs away, and Crock and the Pittsburgh police read the ransom note as a demand for Willard himself.
