Plot summary
At Samjin Company in 1995, Lee Ja-young works in production management, Jung Yu-na in marketing, and Shim Bo-ram in accounting. All three came to the firm straight from high school and, after eight years, still hold low-level posts even though each knows her work well. When the company promises a step up to anyone scoring at least 600 on the TOEIC exam, the three enroll in English classes. Assigned to a factory, Ja-young sees polluted wastewater spilling from it. A reader of mystery novels, she wants to know what her employer is hiding, and the other two agree to help. All three stand to lose their jobs if the company learns what they are doing.
