Plot summary
Kim Yeol's first film was a great success, but critics have since turned on his melodramas and rate him against his late mentor, Shin Sang-ho. He leans on antidepressants. After a dream about his newest project, Cobweb, he is persuaded that putting the dream on camera will lift the picture into a masterpiece, so he sets out to alter the ending of a film that is already finished. The sets are being taken apart, the actors are booked elsewhere, and the Ministry of Culture and Information has turned down the rewritten screenplay. Mi-do, who stands to inherit the production company, likes the new script, and her money keeps the set standing while Kim assembles his cast and crew for a shoot without authorization.
