Plot summary
Two years into the pandemic, with Los Angeles under a curfew, three couples and a friend hold an online birthday party for Evan, each from a different address. Ben and Liam are in New York City, Evan and Jen in West Hollywood, Oliver and Mia in Venice, and Harper in Austin, Texas. Oliver has arranged for a designer drug to be dropped at every home, and all of them agree to swallow it. A short argument later, Jen topples backward, strikes her head and lies still. Because nobody was watching their screen closely, none of them can say how she fell, and they fear the police will hold Evan responsible.
