Terry Frost

Biography

Terry Frost was an American actor who turned up in dozens of Westerns through the 1940s and 1950s. Born in Bemidji, Minnesota, he spent six years before acting working as a cowboy, lumberjack, miner and salesman around the country, and broke into entertainment in vaudeville in 1929. His screen career started in 1941 with the role of Sam Emery in Law of the Range, and he went on to appear in many B-movie westerns for Monogram and PRC. In the 1950s he worked heavily in television, taking feature roles in series such as I Led 3 Lives, Waterfront and Boston Blackie, a recurring part as Sergeant Morris in Highway Patrol, and guest spots on Western shows including Gunsmoke, Rawhide and The Lone Ranger. Work slowed in the 1960s; he taught drama, wrote a text on acting and appeared in regional theater. He died in 1993.
