Tawfeek Barhom
Biography
Tawfeek Barhom is a Palestinian actor and director who spent his childhood in Ein Rafa, a village close to Jerusalem. He first drew notice with the lead in A Borrowed Identity (2014), a performance that was widely praised and brought him attention abroad. In 2015 he appeared in The Idol and Wounded Land as well as the Greek film Worlds Apart (2015). His part in Boy from Heaven (2022), which appeared in the festival's main selection at Cannes, brought him a 2023 Best Actor nomination at the Guldbagge Awards. He also starred in The First Omen (2024), the prequel to the horror film The Omen from 1976. In 2025 he won the Short Film Palme d'Or for I'm Glad You're Dead Now, a short he wrote, directed and starred in.
