Steve Plytas
Biography
Steve Plytas was a Greek actor who worked largely in British film, television, and theater. Born in Constantinople in 1913, he later built his career in the United Kingdom. On stage he appeared in West End productions of Tennessee Williams's The Night of the Iguana in 1965 and Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap during the 1970s. His screen work included roles in The Moon-Spinners (1964), Theatre of Death (1967), Eleni (1985), and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987). He also appeared in films such as The Spy Who Came In from the Cold, Revenge of the Pink Panther, Carry On Emmannuelle, and Batman. On television he was seen in The Avengers, Danger Man, The Saint, Doctor Who, Z-Cars, Fawlty Towers, The Professionals, Minder, and Tales of the Unexpected. He died in 1994.
