Plot summary
The British writer Ian Fleming is at the center of a dramatized account of his life. He serves through the Second World War, and Ann Fleming, Ivar Bryce and Loelia are among the people around him. His love life and his writing run side by side, and the spy novels he produces give the world James Bond. Figures from those years, among them Lucky Luciano and Noel Coward, pass through the story. The title comes from the Jamaican estate where Fleming stayed, and the account draws on a biography by a man who had been his assistant in the 1950s and had access to his private papers.
