Biography

Simon Farnaby is an English performer who acts, writes, sings and does comedy. Born in Darlington, he spent years in the supporting cast of The Mighty Boosh, with a role in its related film Bunny and the Bull (2009). With the Them There collective he starred in the sketch show Horrible Histories, co-created and wrote Yonderland, had his first major involvement in creating a film with the troupe's historical comedy Bill (2015), and co-wrote and appeared in Ghosts as Julian Fawcett. He co-wrote Mindhorn (2016) and had a small role in Rogue One that year. He co-wrote the biography The Phantom of the Open, about the golfer Maurice Flitcroft, later a 2021 film starring Mark Rylance. He appeared in Paddington (2014) and co-wrote Paddington 2 with Paul King, earning two BAFTA nominations, and co-wrote Wonka (2023) with King. He accepted a 2023 television BAFTA for a Jubilee short in which he played a butler.
