Shazad Latif

Shazad Latif is a British actor, born in London and raised in Tufnell Park, who trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and appeared in stage productions including King Lear and School for Scandal before leaving a year early for his first major television role. That part was Tariq Masood, a skilled technician and data analyst, in Spooks. He went on to play the recurring studio staffer Clem Fandango in Toast of London, Dr. Jekyll in Penny Dreadful in 2016, and Lieutenant Ash Tyler in Star Trek: Discovery, a role that also had him playing the Klingon Voq under a different credit. On film he played an ISIS fighter in the thriller Profile (2018), which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and won the Panorama Audience Award. He later played Captain Nemo in the series Nautilus.
