Robert Foxworth

Biography

Robert Foxworth is an American actor of film, stage and television who was born in Houston and trained in acting at Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He first drew notice on the stage, particularly at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., and he turned down the role of J. R. Ewing in Dallas before Larry Hagman took it. His television work includes The Storefront Lawyers, and he is best known for playing Chase Gioberti on Falcon Crest from 1981 to 1987 and Bernard Chenowith on Six Feet Under from 2001 to 2003. He starred in Gene Roddenberry's 1974 movie The Questor Tapes and has guest-starred on series including Columbo, Murder, She Wrote, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The West Wing and Law & Order. He voiced Professor Hamilton on Justice League Unlimited and the Autobot Ratchet in Transformers and its sequels.
