Richard Garrick
Biography
Performed on Broadway; active from 1907-47. Garrick made his stage debut in the moderately successful production of "The Boys of Company B" (in which Mack Sennett appeared in one of his 2 stage roles). He appeared in the original 1947 production of "A Streetcar Named Desire" (in the role of the "Strange Man"), directed by Elia Kazan that ran for an amazing 855 performances at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre.

Early training
Garrick was on the teaching staff of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He started the Richard Garrick Studio in Santa Ana, California, in 1930, where aspiring actors could study drama, English, public speaking and other subjects.
Behind the camera
Garrick traveled overseas in 1919, directing films in London and Paris. In 1922, a new film corporation in Italy appointed him production manager.

Garrick left Gaumont to start Garrick Studios Company. In Jacksonville, he offered a five-acre facility with room and equipment for 20 companies to work at the same time.
