Ray Stricklyn

Ray Stricklyn was an American actor and publicist. Born in Houston, Texas, in 1928, he began on the stage at 16, when he tried out for Ah, Wilderness and won the lead. After summer stock and a Broadway debut in A Climate of Eden, he moved into film, starting with a one-scene role in The Proud and Profane (1956). He appeared as Tim Hansen in The Return of Dracula (1958) and had roles in The Lost World (1960), Young Jesse James (1960) and Arizona Raiders (1965). His awards included a Theatre World Award for A Climate of Eden and Golden Globe nominations for Ten North Frederick (1958) and The Plunderers (1960). On television he played Howard Alston Hawkins on Days of Our Lives from 1991 to 1992 and guested on Perry Mason and Combat!. He later worked as a publicist and wrote with Charlotte Chandler and starred in Confessions of a Nightingale, a one-man show about Tennessee Williams.
