Plot summary
In 1865, with the Civil War over, Clint Stewart and Willie Martin have no work, so they join Quantrill's Raiders, the Confederate guerrillas who refuse to surrender and keep raiding towns. Union Captain Andrews is hunting the gang. A year later, Andrews is ordered to form the Arizona Rangers, a territorial law enforcement unit, to stop the gang's holdups of Union gold. Needing men who know how the Raiders operate, he stages a prison break to bring Clint and Willie out of jail, offering them pardons in exchange for their help. The two are told to rejoin the gang and learn where its next heist will be. Andrews's other new recruit is Clint's younger brother Danny.
