Raf Baldassarre
Biography
Raffaele Baldassarre, known professionally as Raf Baldassarre, was an Italian film actor whose career spanned several decades. Born in Giurdignano, in the province of Lecce, Apulia, he began acting in the late 1950s. Early on he appeared in many peplum and adventure movies, often playing either a young villain or the hero's loyal companion. In the second half of the 1960s, when Italian productions commonly used American-sounding names, he was billed as Ralph Baldwyn or Ralph Baldwin in a number of Spaghetti Westerns. He remained active until the mid-1980s, generally in supporting parts, and he also produced films on occasion. His screen career lasted from the late 1950s to the mid-1980s. Baldassarre died in 1995.
