Peter Stickles
Biography
Peter Stickles is an American actor from New York City, known above all for Caleb, the voyeur in John Cameron Mitchell's Shortbus (2006), and for Damian, who leads a cult of gay vampires, in the Here TV series The Lair. He won the Shortbus part in 2003, chosen from about 400 actors who sent audition tapes, back when the project had neither a script nor a title beyond Sex Film Project; the story grew out of improvisation once the cast was set. For the film he shared a Gotham Independent Film Award nomination as part of its ensemble. The Lair began in June 2007 on the here! network, drew weak reviews, and was renewed, with a second season arriving in late 2008. Much of his later work has been low-budget and direct-to-video horror, among it Meat Weed Madness (2006) and its sequel Meat Weed America (2007), plus the exercise video The Bedroom Workout for Men: Better Sex Through Exercise.
