Ned Vaughn

Biography

Ned Vaughn is an American actor in film and television. He was raised in Huntsville, Alabama, where he took his first acting role at age ten in a community theater staging of Oliver! He studied at HB Studio in New York and in 1986 landed his first professional job, a Pepsi commercial shot by Ridley Scott, though his part was cut. His first starring film role came in The Rescue (1988). He went on to play Seaman Beaumont in The Hunt for Red October, join ABC's China Beach as Corporal Jeff Hyers, and appear in Apollo 13. His television work spans nearly one hundred episodes, and he provided the face and voice of Captain Gordon Leary in the video game L.A. Noire. He also performed in Hellcab at Dublin's Tivoli Theatre during the Dublin Theatre Festival.

Vaughn was 10 when he took his first acting part, in a community theater staging of the musical Oliver! The production was put on in the Von Braun Center's concert hall, which holds 2000 seats.
A change of course
While he studied at HB Studio in Greenwich Village, Vaughn supported himself as a doorman at the Wellington Hotel in New York, a job he called a crash course in human nature.
A first
Vaughn gave both the face and voice to LAPD Captain Gordon Leary in the 2011 video game L.A. Noire. That game was the first video game shown at the Tribeca Film Festival.
