Plot summary
The American president and the Soviet General Secretary meet at a chalet in West Berlin to open talks on eliminating nuclear weapons. In another part of the building, senior officers from both armies agree to sabotage the negotiations. General Carlson refuses to go along, and killers dressed as West German hikers who got past the perimeter assassinate him outside the chalet. Master Sergeant Johnny Gallagher, a Green Beret on patrol around the building, is blamed for the failure. As punishment he must bring Sergeant Walter Henke home to face a court martial. At Dulles International Airport an undercover team ambushes Gallagher and seizes Henke, so Gallagher sets out to track him down.
