Naomi Stevens
Biography
Naomi Stevens was an American character actress whose film and television career spanned the 1950s to the 1980s. Born in Trenton, she started in vaudeville at age two and by age five had branched into radio, film, and theater, later attending the Grace Waugh Bowman School of Theatricals. She appeared in almost 100 roles, often as mothers, landladies, gossips, or neighbors, with characters frequently Italian, Latin, or East European and often comic. Her feature films included The Apartment (1960), Valley of the Dolls (1967), and Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell (1968). On television, she played Sgt. Bella Archer on the ABC crime drama Vegas (1978) and made many guest appearances, with her final role as Mrs. Nazareo on Days of Our Lives in 1989. She also worked in old-time radio, portraying Irene Barbour on One Man's Family and Daphne Royce on Brenthouse.
