Mike Pratt

Mike Pratt was an English actor and screenwriter who also worked as a musician and songwriter. He was known for British television work in the 1960s and 1970s, most notably as Jeff Randall in Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), a role he played alongside Kenneth Cope and Annette Andre. Born in London, he first worked in advertising and took part-time acting roles before leaving office work in the mid 1950s. He then earned money playing jazz and skiffle in London clubs, on guitar and piano. With Lionel Bart and Tommy Steele he wrote songs, and he and Bart won an Ivor Novello award in 1958 for A Handful of Songs. He appeared in Roman Polanski's Repulsion in 1965. Other screen roles came in Robbery and The Fixer. In 1966 he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, and he acted in Tango at the Aldwych Theatre. He also wrote an episode of that series. He died in 1976.
