Mike Grady

Mike Grady is an English character actor whose comedy work on television and in film made him best known. He was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. His stage work was extensive, taking in the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre, the West End, the Royal Court, the Bush and the Soho Poly, as well as tours and pantomimes. On television he was a series regular as Ken Mills in Citizen Smith and played Barry Wilkinson in Last of the Summer Wine across 161 episodes; other credits include Minder, Rooms, Look and Read, Colin's Sandwich, Up the Garden Path and Not with a Bang. His films include Up the Front (1972), Symptoms (1974), The Return of the Pink Panther (1975), with Peter Sellers, and Bert Rigby, You're a Fool (1989). He has also worked regularly in radio, including the Radio 2 soap Waggoners' Walk, in which he played Rob Pengelly.
