Luciano Pigozzi

Biography

Luciano Pigozzi, credited under the name Alan Collins, was an Italian character actor and a familiar presence in Italian genre cinema. Born in Novellara, he appeared in films from 1954 to 1989, collecting more than one hundred screen credits. He drew notice for his resemblance to Peter Lorre. In the 1960s he took roles in Italian thrillers that included Terror-Creatures from the Grave, Werewolf in a Girls' Dormitory (1961), and The Whip and the Body (1963). His credits also featured Blood and Black Lace (1964), Human Cobras (1971), Baron Blood (1972), which gave him perhaps his goriest role, Yor, the Hunter from the Future (1983), Libido, and Ivanhoe, the Norman Swordsman. Pigozzi died in 2008.
