Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Werewolf in a Girls' Dormitory (1961)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The werewolf transformations in Werewolf in a Girls' Dormitory were shot in reverse: actor Curt Lowens started in full make-up and elements of the make-up were removed, with dissolves joining the stages of the change, a process that took over three hours.
- Italian productions of the time required English-sounding names, so the cast and crew of Werewolf in a Girls' Dormitory hid behind pseudonyms such as 'Richard Benson' for director Paolo Heusch, 'Julian Berry' for writer Ernesto Gastaldi and 'Francis Berman' for composer Armando Trovajoli; Gastaldi said it was mandatory because that was what the producers wanted.
- Curt Lowens called the shoot of the film a chaotic experience because the actors predominantly spoke four different languages on set: English, Italian, French and German.
- The American version added a rock song, "The Ghoul in School", to the opening credits; it was written by Marilyn Stewart and Frank Owens, had vocals by Adam Keefe, and was released as a 45 RPM record distributed by Cub Records.
