Lou Castel

Lou Castel is a Colombian-Swedish actor known for his work in Italian cinema. Born in Bogotá, he spent a brief period at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia before being dismissed. His first screen appearance was an uncredited role in The Leopard (1963). He gained international attention with Marco Bellocchio's Fists in the Pocket (1965), playing Alessandro, a young man who murders his mother and brother. Spaghetti westerns followed, notably Carlo Lizzani's Requiescant (1967) and Damiano Damiani's A Bullet for the General (1967), along with the drama Come Play with Me (1968) and Orgasmo (1969). He also played a film director in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's Beware of a Holy Whore (1971). Later he appeared as a character actor in German and French productions for directors such as Wim Wenders and Claude Chabrol. His later credits include The Cassandra Crossing (1976) and Year of the Gun (1991).
