John Myhers
Biography
John Myhers was an American actor of stage and screen who began singing as a boy and won leading roles with the St. Paul Civic Opera while a student at the McPhail School of Music. After wartime service in Italy, he stayed in Rome for about a decade, studying at the American Academy and earning a doctorate in literature from the University of Rome. On Broadway his credits included Kiss Me Kate and The Golden Fleecing along with The Good Soup, and he played Captain Von Trapp on the national tour of The Sound of Music. His films included Mr. Bratt in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1967), Robert Livingston in 1776 (1972), the Roman Senate leader in History of the World, Part I, Willard (1971), The Shaggy D.A. (1976) and Treasure of Matecumbe (1976). On television he voiced Hector Heathcote in animated shorts and appeared on Get Smart, Hogan's Heroes and The Twilight Zone.
