Ina Balin
Biography
Ina Balin was an American actress of stage, film, and television who began in summer stock before reaching Broadway. Born in Brooklyn, she made her television debut on The Perry Como Show and went on to guest roles in dozens of series. Her Broadway credits included Compulsion and A Majority of One, the latter winning her a 1959 Theatre World Award. On film, she made her debut in The Black Orchid (1959) and starred opposite Paul Newman in From the Terrace (1960), earning a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year and a nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She appeared with John Wayne in The Comancheros (1961), with Jerry Lewis in The Patsy (1964), and in The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965) and Charro! (1969). Later films included The Projectionist and The Comeback Trail.
