Grace Kelly
Biography
Grace Kelly was an American actress who trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and began in New York theater and live television. Her first screen role came in Fourteen Hours (1951), and she rose to fame with High Noon (1952) and Mogambo (1953), the latter earning her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Academy Awards. Her work in The Country Girl (1954) brought the Academy Award for Best Actress. She became known for Alfred Hitchcock thrillers including Rear Window (1954), Dial M for Murder (1954), and To Catch a Thief (1955), and she also appeared in The Bridges at Toko-Ri (1954), Green Fire (1954), The Swan (1956), and High Society (1956). Later she narrated The Children of Theatre Street (1977), a documentary that received an Academy Award nomination. She collected three Golden Globe Awards and placed 13th on the American Film Institute's list of 25 Greatest Female Stars.
