Grace Hayle
Biography
Grace Hayle was an American actress of stage and screen whose credits numbered more than 300 films. Born in Newark on July 24, 1888, she began her career in the theater, becoming the new leading woman of the Knickerbocker Players in the fall of 1917; the troupe was based at the Knickerbocker Theatre in Philadelphia. With that company she took the role of Laura Murdock in the 1917 production The Easiest Way. She also acted on Broadway, in Double Exposure in 1918 and The Duchess Misbehaves in 1946, and her film work eventually ran to hundreds of pictures. Grace Hayle died on March 20, 1963, at the age of 74.
