Frankie Thomas
Biography
Frankie Thomas was an American actor who also worked as an author and a bridge strategy expert. He was born in New York City into a family of actors and started on Broadway as a youth, playing a Kiowan boy in Carry Nation in 1932 and appearing in six other plays by 1936. His last A film was Boys Town (1938), in which he played Freddy Fuller, the town mayor, with Spencer Tracy and Mickey Rooney. A series of B movies followed, among them Nancy Drew... Detective (1938), Nancy Drew... Trouble Shooter (1939), and Invisible Stripes (1939). He had small parts in One Foot in Heaven (1941). The Major and the Minor (1942) and Always in My Heart were among his final films; in The Major and the Minor he was a military school cadet. His most famous part was the lead in the early television show Tom Corbett, Space Cadet.
