Frank Lawton
Biography
Frank Lawton was an English actor. The son of two stage players, he was born in London in 1904 and made his earliest major screen appearance in Young Woodley (1930). In the mid-1930s he acted in several Hollywood films, most notably as the grown-up David Copperfield in MGM's adaptation of David Copperfield (1935). A lasting breakthrough in America never came, and he went back to British film and theater. On the West End stage he appeared in plays including Alex Atkinson's Four Winds (1953), Ronald Miller's Waiting for Gillian (1954) and Michael Clayton Hutton's Silver Wedding (1957), and he also worked in television, in the series My Husband and I. Lawton died in 1969.
