Dan Futterman
Biography
Dan Futterman is an American actor, screenwriter, and producer whose first stage part came in 1991, in the WPA production Club Soda, followed by a Broadway turn as Louis Ironson in Angels in America. His earliest screen work included a thug in The Fisher King (1991), and he went on to play Val, one of the nightclub owners' sons, in The Birdcage (1996), a London con artist in Shooting Fish (1997), Joe in Enough (2002), and in A Mighty Heart (2007) the journalist Daniel Pearl. On television he was Vincent Gray on Judging Amy and turned up in When Trumpets Fade (1998) and Political Animals. Writing brought him Academy Award nominations for Capote and for Foxcatcher (2014), which he co-wrote. He wrote and executive-produced In Treatment, adapted Gracepoint, and is the showrunner of American Rust.
