Claire Stansfield
Biography
Claire Stansfield is a British-Canadian actress, director, and fashion designer who was born in London in 1964 and raised mainly in Toronto. She modeled in Canada and the UK as a teenager, then attended London's Central School of Speech and Drama before moving to Hollywood. She is known for playing Alti on Xena: Warrior Princess, and she also appeared on Twin Peaks, Frasier, The X-Files, The Flash, and Cybill. Her film work includes the action thriller Drop Zone (1994) and Sweepers (1998), in which she starred opposite Dolph Lundgren. She directed The Lovely Leave, based on a Dorothy Parker short story, in 1999. In 2002 she founded the clothing line C&C California with Cheyann Benedict; it was acquired by Liz Claiborne in 2005.
