Biography
Chick Chandler was an American actor who worked in film, television, and vaudeville. He was born in Kingston, New York, and by age 12 was dancing and entertaining in local stage shows. During the 1920s he worked in vaudeville and burlesque as a dancer and comic. In 1930 he joined the radio program Liberty Bell Filling Station, and two years later he appeared in the Broadway play The Great Magoo. David O. He became a supporting player, often comic, in nearly 120 movies over 36 years, and in the late 1930s he was a regular at Twentieth Century-Fox as wiseguy sidekicks. He reached his greatest fame starring as Toubo Smith in the 1955 series Soldiers of Fortune, and later was a regular on the 1961 NBC comedy One Happy Family. He retired in 1971 and died in 1988.
