Carol Hawkins
Biography
Carol Hawkins is an English actress who worked mainly in comedy, playing comic parts in television sitcoms and films during the 1970s and 1980s. Born in Barnet, she trained as a shorthand typist before studying at the Corona Stage Academy in Hammersmith. While still a student she was cast as Sharon Eversleigh in the film version of the television series Please Sir!, later playing Sharon in The Fenn Street Gang. She appeared in Carry On Abroad and in the films Carry On Behind (1975) and Bless This House (1972). She played Sandra in the BBC series Porridge and also worked on Carry On Laughing for television, and she took roles in Not Now, Comrade and in Confessions of a Pop Performer. She largely retired in 2005.
