Bozidar Smiljanic

Bozidar Smiljanic was a Croatian actor whose screen career began at sixteen with a part in the 1953 film Sinji galeb, directed by Branko Bauer. He trained at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb and then spent years as part of the ensemble of the Zagrebian Drama Theatre, now the City Drama Theatre Gavella, and he taught at the academy in the early 1970s. He later ran the drama department at the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek, worked freelance and with Teater &td in Zagreb, and managed the Estrade Theatre ESTA. From 1978 to 1984 he belonged to the drama company of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb and briefly served as its publicity director. After 1984 he worked freelance, largely in foreign film productions, and from 2003 led Netfaces, an internet casting organization, also working as casting director, director and acting teacher.
