Plot summary
Summoned to a mansion in Madrid, Jackie, a Hong Kong treasure hunter called Asian Hawk, hears Duke Scapio describe how German commander Hans von Ketterling hid 240 tons of gold in the Sahara at a secret base as World War II was ending, and how the 18 soldiers in the operation vanished. On a United Nations request, Scapio hands Jackie an unofficial mission to find the base and recover the gold, with Ada, an expert on African geography, alongside him and a promised one percent share. A locksmith says the key also needs a special code. Elsa, a young German woman who calls von Ketterling her grandfather, asks to join, and two men, Amon and Tasza, want the same gold. In the desert the group picks up Momoko, a Japanese woman.

- While filming the underground base chase scene in Armour of God II, Jackie Chan was meant to swing on a long chain to a platform but lost his balance, fell face-first and dislocated his sternum.
- The hotel scene with Carol Cheng in a bath towel and other gunfight scenes set in Morocco were shot in Hong Kong on a hill overlooking Sha Tin, with four tons of sand imported from the Middle East and Bangladeshi and Indian extras hired to play Moroccans.
- Jackie Chan said in his biography that the film cost $15 million, which made it the most expensive Hong Kong film at the time.
