Asim Chaudhry
Biography
Asim Chaudhry is a British comedian, actor, writer, director and rapper. Born in London in 1986, Hugo Chegwin, Steve Stamp and Allan Mustafa were among the friends he made at college, and together they made YouTube mockumentaries about a fictional pirate radio station. That work grew into People Just Do Nothing, a BBC mockumentary sitcom he co-created and headlined as Chabuddy G. The role earned him a comedy performance prize from the Royal Television Society in 2017 and two nominations at the British Academy Television Awards. He performed with the group Kurupt FM and published the comedy book How to Be a Man as Chabuddy G. His screen work includes Eaten by Lions (2018), Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018), Hoff the Record and The Sandman. Love Pool, a short he both wrote and directed, was his directing debut, and People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan (2021) followed as a film. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 featured him as Teefs.

Big break
Chaudhry filmed YouTube mockumentaries about the group's time as DJs on a London pirate radio station. Ash Atalla, a producer of The Office, saw them and had the group create the BBC Three series People Just Do Nothing.
Beyond film
Chaudhry performs as part of Kurupt FM with his People Just Do Nothing collaborators; the group signed to XL Recordings and released the single Suttin Like That in October 2017 and the mixtape The Lost Tapes in November 2017.
Behind the camera
Chaudhry put out a comedy book titled How to Be a Man, using the name Chabuddy G. He also played that character in People Just Do Nothing.
A first
Chaudhry competed on the sixth series of the Dave panel show Taskmaster, whose episodes premiered between May and July 2018. That series drew an average of 900,000 viewers, a record for the program.
