Plot summary
Lucy Barrett and Cindy Thompson are childhood friends in Allburg, the small town they are about to leave for college. Before going, they swim in the flooded, abandoned crypt of a church as a symbolic cleansing. Lucy's crucifix slips into the water and settles on the remains of Czakyr, an ancient vampire. Czakyr wakes wanting Lucy's virgin blood. Mark Gardner, a schoolteacher from a nearby town, is sent to Allburg by his friend Father Frank Aldin. Lucy has become the target of the town's vampires.
