Biography
Adam Carolla, born May 27, 1964 in Los Angeles, is an American podcaster, comic actor and host of The Adam Carolla Show. Raised in North Hollywood, he trained in improvisation with the Groundlings and belonged to the ACME Comedy Theatre troupe. He co-hosted Loveline with Drew Pinsky on radio from 1995 to 2005 and on MTV from 1996 to 2000, then co-created and co-hosted The Man Show and co-created Crank Yankers. As a voice actor he played Commander Nebula on Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Death on Family Guy, Spanky Ham on Drawn Together and Wynchell in Wreck-It Ralph (2012). He appeared in Windy City Heat (2003), starred in and co-wrote The Hammer (2007), and had a role in Still Waiting... (2009). He directed Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman (2015), and his books In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks and Not Taco Bell Material became New York Times bestsellers.

Big break
Carolla offered to serve as boxing trainer for Jimmy Kimmel in 1994, when KROQ-FM's Kevin and Bean staged a bout. Kimmel, a regular billed as "Jimmy the Sports Guy", was matched against another station personality. This opened the door to a recurring part on the program.
