Plot summary
Jack, a young British hitchhiker, has walked for hours through the French countryside without a single car stopping for him. He comes upon a couple arguing and pulls the man off the woman before he can strike her. The man drives away, and the woman, who calls herself Véronique, says she is a hitchhiker too. She tells Jack that a serial killer is working the road, which is why no one would stop for him. They agree to stay together for safety, and Véronique helps Jack with his French.

- To simulate French driving conditions for the France-set film, director Pastoll had to close off a section of road so the cast and crew could drive on the right side. Shooting took place mostly in England, with twenty days there and five in France.
