Plot summary
Parker Wald and Abigail Scanlon have been close since they were children, and both now live in New York City. They travel back to Lambert, Louisiana, for a party marking Parker's parents' wedding anniversary, and there they catch up with people they grew up with. Rachel, a dear friend of theirs, has lost Tony, the man she loved, to Caitlyn, a former friend of the two women who intends to marry him. Caitlyn's mother, Olivia, keeps a close watch over the plans. Parker and Abigail get themselves taken on as bridesmaids so that they, with Rachel, can work against the wedding from inside Caitlyn's circle. Parker also meets Henry Kent, a police detective and a groomsman.
